The Chemistry BSc line offers full – 3-year-education – in chemistry, but also part-time education, preferably in the second year out of the three full-time-training years.

The study programme for the full time training offers complete education in chemistry, with special directions particularly in applied organic chemistry, analytical and environmental chemistry, and applied physical chemistry.

The part-time education, i.e., two semesters in Chemistry BSc line (the second year) include courses in four modules: advanced inorganic chemistry (12 credits), instrumental analytical chemistry (14 credits), organic chemistry (12 credits) and physical chemistry (12 credits). Each module has two or three subjects with lectures, seminars and laboratory practices. Courses in mathematics (4 credits), chemometrics (4 credits) and basic biochemistry (2 credits) complete the curriculum (in the second year of the Chemistry BSc line). The subjects are presented in lectures (theoretical background of the topics, with the aim to provide a wider view for chemical application), seminars with discussion of the topics and practicing chemical calculation, and laboratory work. The students will familiarize their knowledge with the most modern instrumentation. The purpose of the year (two semesters) is to prepare the students for specialization in bioanalytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, synthetic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry.

The language of teaching is English.

The preparatory course might include teaching for those, who request familiarization in mathematics necessary for chemistry studies, in practical chemical calculation and in general and basic inorganic chemistry. The University might offer courses for language improvement.
