This Academic Program leads to the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.). The degree is of Master level and accepted in all EU countries and most other countries in the world.
The program is designed to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to run public and hospital pharmacies, take various jobs in the pharmaceutical industry, drug regulatory agencies, research laboratories, health maintenance organizations, and medical service institutions. The degree covers the study of chemical, physical, pharmaceutical and pharmacological properties of medical substances and their application in the pharmacy profession.
It also enables young pharmacists to continue education in Ph.D. programs in Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Biomedical fields.
The 1st and 2nd years of the curriculum focuse on basic sciences (General, Inorganic, Organic, Analytical, Physical, Colloid Chemistry, Mathematics, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Anatomy, Botanics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathophysiology). In the 3rd, 4th and 5th years students participate in specialized pharmaceutical education (Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, Management, Clinical Pharmacology, Biopharmacy, Pharmacology and Toxicology). Practical trainings in public and hospital pharmacies and in the pharmaceutical industry and thesis work are also prerequisites of the final examination to be taken before a State Board.
