Description of the programme: The Doctoral School of Physics covers the fields that are the subjects of research in the Institute of Physics.

There is a strong collaboration between the doctoral school and two institutes of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences: Wigner Research Centre for Physics and Institute for Technical Physics and Material Science, as well as several international scientific collaborators and local industrial partners.

 

Admission: The applicant must hold a Master’s degree (MA, MSc) in a relevant field and has to take an oral interview

 

Programme structure:

The PhD School has four programmes:

  • Quantum optics and Quantum Information
  • Nonlinear optics
  • Laser physics, Industrial Laser Applications
  • Nuclear and Particle Physics

 

Graduation Requirements: Students have to collect 180 credits by taking regular courses, teaching and research activity. They have to publish two papers in accepted international journals (with impact factor). They have to pass the Doctoral Examination, prepare the PhD Dissertation and defend it.
